OASIS.AI Showcased at PSE Asia 2026 for AI-Augmented Mixing Design

Empower Operations is pleased to announce that OASIS.AI was featured at the PSE Asia 2026 Conference in Seoul, South Korea, in a presentation by Richard D. LaRoche titled "AI-Augmented Process Systems Engineering for Mixing Design: Constraint-Aware Small-Data Optimization Wrapped Around First-Principles Models."

The presentation showcased how AI can enhance engineering decision-making by enabling efficient exploration of complex, constrained design spaces while preserving the use of trusted first-principles models, physical constraints, and expert engineering judgment.

The featured case study focused on the design exploration of a shear-sensitive aerobic bioreactor for mammalian cell culture. By integrating OASIS.AI with the KaeMix mixing design platform, the workflow explored alternative mixing designs that satisfied mass-transfer requirements while reducing power consumption and minimizing a turbulence-based shear proxy.

As emphasized in the presentation, the guiding philosophy behind AI remains clear:

Rather than replacing engineers, AI should empower them to evaluate more alternatives, make better-informed decisions, and solve increasingly complex engineering problems with greater confidence and efficiency.
